Nov 1st – 17th 2012
Variations Theatre Group, Inc (VTG) is proud to announce the 3rd annual Harvest Theatre Festival. The Harvest Theatre Festival is part of VTG’s core mission: to provide an opportunity for artists to develop fresh, new work. The selected plays will receive a showing at a brand new theatre complex in Long Island City, NY. During the course of three (3) weeks, each play will have an opportunity to impress both audiences and a panel of judges composed of esteemed professionals from the theatrical and literary world. There will be three (3) official rounds of the festival, with winners of each round chosen by a combination of audience and judges’ votes.
This year’s Harvest Festival will include performances of last year’s winner Wait and See What Happens by Alison Costello. There will also be staged reading performances of the three plays in this year’s Minor Variations Playwrighting Lab.
The playwright of the winning play will receive a grand prize of $1,000.00 and the opportunity to develop the play into a full length production with VTG next season. Awards will also be given out for Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director. The awards ceremony and final performances will be on November 17th, 2012 at 10pm.
